Champion came into our care after developing ongoing problems with his hind legs that left him regularly lame and unable to work comfortably. His left hindlimb is affected by a displaced patella, which can slip out of place and cause lameness. He also suffered a tear to a muscle in his right hind leg, but unfortunately showed little improvement despite rest and treatment.

As Champion is no longer able to work and would require long-term respite care, his owner agreed that he would be better off permanently retired. Champion is now enjoying his golden years at Maramba Farm, where he can spend his days grazing and resting with the rescue herd, free from the demands of working life.
