Jackson was rescued to receive care for a chemical burn on his back caused by petrol in 2023. Despite the negative aesthetic appearance this caused on his back, Jackson is amongst the few donkeys with a pleasing build and is considered to be ‘handsome’. He is also the dominant gelding of the herd and can be quite protective of his female counterparts.
