During one of our community outreach visits to a local market in 2025, we came across Ngunduzani, who was suffering from a severe injury to his right hind leg. His owner explained that around eight months earlier, Ngunduzani had become tangled in a rope while tied overnight and injured himself badly trying to get free. By the time we met him, he had been living with the injury for months and was in significant pain. Unfortunately, the damage was too severe and had been present for too long for surgery to be a suitable option. After speaking with his owner, it was agreed that Ngunduzani would retire with us at Maramba Farm.
Ngunduzani received the care and pain management he needed during his first few months with us, and today he is able to spend his days peacefully grazing with the rescue herd. He is a handsome, gentle and curious stallion who likes to have a good sniff before coming over to say hello.
