Animal Aid Abroad (AAA)
AAA is an international non-profit organisation founded in 2007 by Janet Thomas, after she had lived and worked in Egypt as a teacher and witnessed the cruel treatment of street and working animals every day.
AAA has partnered with ZWDP since 2020, consistently delivering care to working donkeys through our mobile clinics and at Maramba Farm, where our rescues receive short and long-term treatment and recuperation. AAA has been instrumental in helping us to provide humane harnesses and modifications to carts, greatly improving the quality of life for working donkeys.
Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS)
WVS provides free expert care to animals in need all over the world. Through their Large Animal programme, WVS has funded the establishment of a Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at Maramba Farm, as well as our fantastic new mobile equine clinic.
They help us to deliver expert training to veterinary students as well as partner in our community education programmes in the villages we work with. Education is critical to addressing the level of knowledge and care given by owners to their donkeys, and to developing sustainable long-term improvements to animal welfare in Zambia.
Africa's Eden
Africa’s Eden is a registered non-profit company based in the region. Their growing network of more than 400 members promote the destination in a positive and informative light. Africa’s Eden believes in the strength of working together to show that the region can compete with the rest of the world as a premier tourism destination. Sustainability and the practice of best green standards are encouraged.
Zambezi Animal Welfare Services (ZAWS)
Zambezi Animal Welfare Services (ZAWS) is a non-profit organisation that seeks to provide animal welfare and protection services to dogs and cats in and around Livingstone, in the Southern Province of Zambia.
ZAWS was established in 2014 by a group of friends who love animals. Their programmes include education, community veterinary outreach, population control through sterilisation, and rescue. In the short time ZAWS has been operating, its activities have been welcomed by communities and local government. To date, ZAWS has rescued over 600 dogs and 300 cats, most of which have been rehomed.
