Our Impact
One story among many
Meet Jackson, one of our rescued donkeys who received care for a chemical burn on his back caused by petrol. Under ZWDP care, Jackson has recovered remarkably well. While the wound still requires veterinary care and may take years to heal completely, the injury hasn't slowed him down one bit. Jackson has retired with us at our sanctuary, where he spends his days grazing peacefully. He remains warm, people-loving, and deeply loved in return.

OUTPUTS
ZWDP delivers education sessions & school engagement, owner support, mobile clinics, treatment, emergency support, humane harnesses, rescue, rehabilitation, sanctuary care, rehoming, veterinary student exposure, stakeholder engagement and communications
OUTCOMES
Donkeys receive care earlier, owners are better informed, children and communities develop more compassionate attitudes, harness-related injuries are reduced, local veterinary and welfare capacity improves, and the most vulnerable donkeys have access to protection and recovery. As a result, working donkeys become healthier, stronger and better able to support the families and communities that depend on them.
