Whether you choose one donkey or a special bonded pair, your adoption helps us provide the daily care, food, veterinary support and lifelong sanctuary they deserve.
Adopt-a-Donkey
For £40 a year, you can choose to adopt one of our donkeys and learn more about their unique story, personality and life at Maramba Farm.
Your support helps us provide the food, veterinary care and daily support your donkey needs, while contributing to the care of all the donkeys at our sanctuary.
Donkey adoption makes a wonderful gift for an animal lover — or a thoughtful treat for yourself.
Adopt-a-Bonded-Pair
For £70 a year, you can adopt one of our special bonded pairs and follow the story of two donkeys who have formed a close, lasting friendship.
Donkeys are highly social animals, and some form a particularly strong bond with one companion. At ZWDP, we believe these friendships are an important part of donkey welfare, and we work hard to keep bonded pairs together throughout their retirement.
By Adopting-a-Bonded-Pair, you'll help provide care and lifelong sanctuary support for two special friends.
When you Adopt you’ll receive:
A personalised printable adoption certificate
Regular pictures of your donkey thriving during retirement
Two in-depth updates per year of how your donkey is doing
When you're in Zambia a chance to visit your donkey of course!

Adoptions run for one year. Before yours expires, we'll send a note to ask whether you'd like to renew.
Yes! A donkey adoption makes a memorable gift, and we're happy to arrange one on behalf of another person.
Yes! You're welcome to choose a new donkey each time you renew.
